Auto Transformers are used in the Power Grid to step down or step up voltage. On
transformer are typically used to step down a higher transmission voltage to a lower transmission voltage, or a higher distribution voltage to a lower distribution voltage.

These transformers usually range from 1 MVA to 200 MVA in size, with the majority being in the 5 MVA to 60 MVA range.
